Janne Rumbough Bids Farewell to Grand Prix Horse Junior

Janne Rumbough bid farewell to her penultimate international Grand Prix horse, Junior, a 22-year-old PRE stallion bred by Kaye-Eddie Lanys at Gremlan Farms. Rumbough took Junior from young horse level to international Grand Prix, starting to show him nationally in 2007 and making their international debut in 2012.

Together, Janne and Junior competed at the Global dressage Festival from 2013 to 2018, winning national PRE Grand Prix championships from 2013 to 2015 and the 2014 U.S. dressage Finals Adult Amateur Grand Prix freestyle title. After their last CDI in Wellington on January 14, 2018, Junior was retired, while Janne continued to compete PRE stallion Armas Zumbel for another year.

Junior spent his life at Janne’s MTICA farm in Wellington, Florida, before his passing on December 18, 2024. Janne expressed gratitude for the 23 years of great times they shared together, quoting “The Wind of Heaven is that, which blows through a horses ears.” Janne Rumbough has been a prominent figure in dressage in Florida, receiving various awards and recognition for her contributions to the sport.
