Jack Keller, who began his career at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) in 1967 expecting to stay only briefly, has become a longstanding and respected figure in the racing community, spending 59 years at the track. Initially working as a valet for 20 years, Keller transitioned to the role of Clerk of Scales, a position he has held for 39 seasons. His deep knowledge, dedication, and integrity have made him an institution at Finger Lakes, earning him recognition and respect from colleagues and the broader racing community.
Keller’s extensive racing background spans 17 racetracks across Ohio and beyond, including a stint as an exercise rider at Hialeah Park for Darby Dan Farm. His contributions to the sport and Finger Lakes were formally honored with his induction into the Finger Lakes Hall of Fame during the annual HBPA meeting and awards banquet. Additionally, the Jockey’s Room at Finger Lakes was named in his honor last year, cementing his legacy as a cherished member of the Finger Lakes racing family.
