Izzy Fischer had a standout week in saddle seat equitation, winning two of the sport’s most prestigious titles in her first year as an adult amateur. Riding CH-EQ Sugar Fund, nicknamed “Belmont,” she captured the UPHA Adult Challenge Cup finals at the American Royal National Championship and then triumphed in the 2025 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final. Their partnership, now in its third year under trainer Shelley Fisher, has grown stronger since their junior exhibitor win in 2015, with Fischer praising Belmont’s intelligence and big personality that she has learned to harness effectively.
The competition featured six finalists judged on precision and pattern work, with Fischer noting Belmont’s clear thinking and energy suited to the challenging pattern. Reserve champion honors went to Morgan Glenn on Far and Away, a Morgan gelding, highlighting the versatility of the breed, while Macy Brangers and Aunty Bellum took bronze. The event was broadcast on the USEF Network, with fans encouraged to follow updates through various social media channels. Fischer remains uncertain about the future but is committed to keeping Belmont active in the sport as long as he enjoys it.
