Italian Equestrian Federation Receives Increased Funding in 2026 Sports Budget

In 2026, the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE) will benefit from increased funding from Sport and Health, the public body managing national sports development funds. With a 15% rise from 2025, FISE is set to receive approximately €6.34 million, ranking 16th in funding increases among sports federations. This boost supports not only competitions but also training projects, youth initiatives, and local activities focused on safe, high-standard horse riding, emphasizing animal welfare and widespread participation.

The broader Sport and Health funding program allocates €344.4 million to various sports federations based on merit, performance, and transparency, favoring disciplines with strong national and international results. While football, swimming, volleyball, tennis, and padel receive the largest shares, the equestrian sector’s increased support aims to enhance infrastructure, maintain facilities, organize events, and provide ongoing training for instructors and technicians. This investment strengthens Italian equestrianism’s competitive edge and promotes sustainable, safe practices nationwide.
