At the MARS Maryland 5 Star event at Fair Hill, the top three riders in the CCI3*-L division remained consistent from dressage through the final jump, with Isabelle Bosley and Conner winning on a dressage score of 24.8 penalties. Bosley, whose family has deep roots in the local racing community, described the victory as a special, full-circle moment, especially competing in front of lifelong friends and family. She expressed excitement about the crossover between the steeplechase and eventing communities and hopes to return to Fair Hill as a five-star competitor with her 8-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Conner.
Olivia Dutton, who led after dressage with Jewelent, finished third, while Alyssa Phillips secured second place riding Rockett 19 in their first long-format event together. Both Bosley and Dutton train with Phillip Dutton, Olivia’s father. The competition was marked by strong performances and fierce rivalry among the top riders, with Bosley and Phillips among only five riders to finish on their dressage scores in the 53-horse field.
