In Loving Memory of Karen Lynn Conrod: A Life of Dedication, Family, and Community Service

Karen Lynn Conrod, aged 74, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2025, in Portage la Prairie. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Fred, their two sons Tyson and Reece, extended family, and many friends. Born in 1951 near Dauphin, Manitoba, Karen was deeply involved in 4H during her youth and demonstrated a strong work ethic from an early age. Throughout her life, she supported her family through various moves tied to her husband’s RCMP career, working in education, childcare, and administration until her retirement. Karen was known for her kindness, dedication to education, volunteerism, and love of baking and gardening.

Karen’s life was marked by her gentle nature and commitment to service, living by the 4H pledge of clearer thinking, greater loyalty, larger service, and better living. She cherished family gatherings, especially time spent with her great nieces and nephews, and was admired for her quiet generosity and tireless support of her community. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4th, 2025, in Portage la Prairie, with donations in her memory suggested for Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
