Idaho Bacon Recall: Kraft Heinz Turkey Bacon Pulled Over Possible Listeria Contamination

Kraft Heinz Foods Company has recalled over 367,000 pounds of fully cooked Oscar Mayer turkey bacon nationwide due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, discovered during lab testing. The recall affects several package sizes with use-by dates ranging from July to September 2025. Consumers who have purchased the product are advised to discard it or return it to the store to avoid the risk of listeriosis, a serious infection that can cause flu-like symptoms and severe complications, especially in pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.

Listeriosis affects about 1,600 people annually in the U.S., with around 260 fatalities, according to the CDC. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, headache, and gastrointestinal issues, and the infection can lead to miscarriage or premature delivery in pregnant women. While no illnesses have been reported from this recall yet, the company is proactively removing the product from shelves to protect public health.
