Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand recently inspected the horse stable at the Goshamahal police ground, announcing the temporary relocation of the horse ground and stables to the Goshamahal Police Stadium. He revealed plans for the police department’s blocks to be shifted, with the premises eventually handed over to the medical department. The government has allocated an additional 2 acres next to the Traffic Training Institute for a new horse stable, with a budget of Rs 55 crore sanctioned for its construction, expected to be completed within a year.
In response to the frequent protests and rallies in Hyderabad, Anand introduced the Swift Women Action Team, comprising 35 newly selected women constables trained in karate and safe detainment techniques for women during protests. This initiative aims to ensure that women are handled appropriately during such events, avoiding embarrassment for both the police and the public.
Anand emphasized the importance of this team and indicated plans for further recruitment, aiming to expand the unit into two platoons of 42 members each. He congratulated the officers involved in establishing the Swift Women Action Team, highlighting the police department’s commitment to enhancing public safety and preparedness.
