Humane Society of Huron Valley Rescues 126 Animals from Repeat Offender

The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) has rescued 126 animals, including a variety of species such as dogs, cats, horses, goats, reptiles, and more, from a case involving repeat offender Christine Thompson, who faces felony animal cruelty charges. Many of the animals were found sick or emaciated and are now receiving veterinary care before being made available for adoption. HSHV is calling for foster volunteers and adopters to help care for the rescued animals.

Wendy Welch, HSHV’s Director of Communications, emphasized the need for public awareness about the exploitation of animals for profit, often hidden behind seemingly innocent roadside zoos or animal attractions. She urged the community to support the animals through fostering, adopting, or donating, highlighting that cruelty can be a dark reality behind such money-driven operations. More information on how to help is available on the HSHV website.
