Howard County Police Rescue Dog from House Fire in Elkridge

Howard County police officers Amaro and Aghamalian heroically rescued a dog trapped inside a house fire in Elkridge last month. Responding to fire alarms, the officers encountered residents pleading for help to save their dog. Despite the dangerous conditions, body camera footage shows the officers searching through the kitchen fire, locating the dog in the garage, and carrying it to safety. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

In related rescue efforts in the Baltimore area, police and fire crews have responded to multiple emergencies involving people and animals. Earlier this month, two people and a dog were rescued from a sinking boat in Gunpowder River, Baltimore County. Other recent rescues include six people saved from a water emergency near Fort Armistead, the recovery of a drowning victim at Beaver Dam Swimming Club, and the dramatic rescue of a horse trapped in a deep hole in Reisterstown. These incidents highlight the ongoing efforts of local emergency responders to protect both residents and animals.
