Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Donates $500,000 to Support Texas Hill Country Flood Recovery

The Houston Livestock Show and rodeo has donated $500,000 to aid Texas Hill Country’s recovery from recent devastating floods. The funds are allocated to support agricultural programs, youth education, and livestock projects affected by the disaster, including contributions to the Texas Department of Agriculture STAR Fund, Kerr County Stock Show, Texas Equine Foundation camps, Kerr County 4-H, and Texas FFA. This donation aims to help farmers, ranchers, and youth programs rebuild and continue their vital work despite the setbacks caused by the floods.

In addition to the financial support, rodeo Houston and its Gourmet Wranglers group provided over $9,000 in gift cards, thousands of pounds of meat, and toiletry packs to flood-impacted families and first responders. The organization also honored volunteers involved in search and rescue and relief distribution efforts. These combined actions underscore the rodeo’s commitment to supporting the affected communities, ensuring the resilience of Texas agriculture and youth programs as recovery efforts continue.
