The response involved multiple fire and support units operating under challenging weather conditions of 92°F and 65% humidity. Fire crews faced hazards including rooftop and yard solar panels, lithium-ion battery storage, loose wiring, and hoarding inside the residence.
The fire was determined to be accidental, caused by a portable generator used to charge a collection of lithium-ion batteries. The incident caused over $100,000 in damage and displaced one family of five, including two adults and three children.
