In response to recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids and protests, members of the southeast Los Angeles cowboy community organized a peaceful Human Rights Unity Ride from Paramount to Compton City Hall. Dozens of horseback riders led the three-mile procession, accompanied by supporters on foot and in vehicles, all demonstrating solidarity with immigrants. Paramount was chosen as the starting point due to its significance as the initial protest site following federal agents’ presence near a local Home Depot in early June.
The ride passed through key areas, including Alondra Boulevard in Compton, with riders moving past U.S. Marines stationed near the Paramount Home Depot amid ongoing ICE enforcement actions across greater Los Angeles. The event highlighted community unity and resistance through a symbolic and peaceful demonstration, blending traditional horseback riding culture with contemporary immigrant rights activism.
