About 25 members of the Horse Tales 4H Club, along with Town’s End Clydesdales, will be traveling through Larkin Township neighborhoods this Saturday to collect new, unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots program. Starting at 9 a.m. in the Waskevich subdivision and moving to Woodland Estates at 1 p.m., the group invites residents to donate toys and even interact with the horses. This annual tradition, ongoing since 2009, saw over 400 toys collected last year, marking the largest donation to the program.
The club views this event as a valuable community service and educational opportunity for its youth members, especially given the anticipated high demand for toys this year. All collected toys will be delivered to the Salvation Army on Monday, November 3. Residents can also arrange to drop off donations by contacting organizers Kathy Warren or Suzy Ivan.
