A trial at Cardiff Crown Court has begun involving 37-year-old horse riding instructor Guy Simmonds and 26-year-old Lauren Jarvis, who are accused of engaging in sexual activity with a girl under 16. Simmonds faces six charges related to penetrative and non-penetrative sexual acts, while Jarvis is charged with one count of non-penetrative sexual activity. Both defendants deny the allegations. Prosecutors presented evidence including messages indicating the defendants knew the victim’s age and attempted to maintain a pact of silence when the victim may have disclosed their activities.

The court heard that Simmonds regularly took the girl into a horsebox at the stables for sexual encounters, sometimes occurring every few days. The last alleged incident involved a threesome at Jarvis’s home in January 2024, which Jarvis reportedly participated in willingly. Text messages revealed coordination between Simmonds and Jarvis regarding the encounters, including discussions about timing and the victim’s presence. The trial is ongoing.
