A horse rider was injured on Formby beach on the afternoon of August 22, prompting an emergency response involving HM Coastguard, RNLI lifeguards, the North West Ambulance Service, and Southport Offshore Rescue Trust quad teams. The rescue teams stabilized the casualty and provided pain management at the scene.
Due to the severity of the injury and the location, the decision was made to airlift the rider to hospital via the North West Air Ambulance for further treatment. The coordinated effort ensured prompt medical attention and safe extraction from the beach.
