A horse fell into a backyard swimming pool in Midland and was safely rescued by local emergency teams. The horse had walked across the pool’s cover and fallen through into the water below, prompting the call for help at 4:32 PM. Several local teams worked together to lift the horse out of the pool using special rescue equipment from a Midland fire truck.
Once back on solid ground, the horse was able to walk away on its own without any serious injuries. Midland Fire officials credited their regular practice of unusual rescues for helping them know exactly what to do in this real emergency situation. The fire department expressed gratitude to all the nearby emergency teams who came to assist in saving the horse.
