Horse Rescue Operator Stephanie Redlick Faces 13 Animal Welfare Charges After Investigation

Stephanie Redlick, operator of Above The Stars Equine Rescue, faces 13 charges under the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act related to alleged neglect of horses in her care. Following an investigation and a February 6 visit by Animal Welfare Services (AWS), 16 horses were seized from Redlick’s property due to poor conditions including malnourishment, untreated medical issues, and severe neglect. stable manager Corey Warren described the horses’ condition as dire, with one thoroughbred mare named Midnight ultimately euthanized due to her poor health.

Additionally, Redlick had solicited donations claiming Above The Stars was a registered charity, but Canadian authorities confirmed it is not registered with the Canada Revenue Agency or other official bodies. After this was reported, Redlick removed charity claims from her website. The charges against her remain before the courts, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
