A woman riding a horse was struck by a vehicle Saturday night near Dobbins Road and 35th Avenue in Laveen, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. The horse sustained severe injuries and was humanely euthanized at the owner’s request to prevent further suffering.

Despite the crash, both the rider and the driver of the vehicle were unharmed. Deputies responded to the incident shortly after 10 p.m.
