Hope Farm Animal Sanctuary: A Lifelong Commitment to Rescuing Abandoned and Abused Animals

Lisa Dostie has been dedicated to rescuing animals since childhood, influenced by her family’s passion for saving abandoned and abused creatures. In 2011, she began her journey by rescuing horses and has since expanded her efforts to include a variety of animals at Hope Farm Animal Sanctuary, which currently houses 62 residents. Dostie emphasizes the need for a safe haven for animals, sharing stories of her rescues, including a calf named Ollie, who overcame severe neglect and now thrives in a loving environment.

The sanctuary, now a 501C3 nonprofit, has seen growth thanks to the support of her vice president, Regina Malsbary, and secretary, Cynthia Stulpin. They have organized fundraising events, such as a successful Craft Fair, which raised funds for animal care. Dostie is actively seeking donations and volunteers to help sustain the sanctuary, highlighting the ongoing issue of animal neglect and abuse in the community.

Among the dedicated volunteers is Marysal Swift, who has been helping at the sanctuary for over five years. She finds fulfillment in caring for the rescued animals and enjoys the learning experience it provides. Dostie encourages anyone interested in volunteering or supporting the sanctuary to reach out, as they continue to strive for a better life for the animals in their care.
