Hong Kong’s emerging equestrian talent Sheikara Whyte, daughter of champion jockey Douglas Whyte, made an impressive international debut at the FEI Asian Championships in Thailand. At 25, she contributed to Hong Kong’s bronze medal-winning showjumping team by delivering three clear rounds, securing seventh place individually before withdrawing from the final round to protect her horse, Hastuce des Courts.
Whyte expressed pride in her performance but emphasized the importance of her horse’s well-being over competing. Looking ahead, she aims to build on this experience and target the next year’s Asian Games, aspiring to compete with confidence and competitiveness without compromising her horse’s longevity.
