Hobby horse enthusiasts in the UK have their first international fixture to look forward to at Thoresby Park’s Eventing Spring Carnival in Nottinghamshire from March 28-30. The competition will include classes for adults and children, such as clear-round, Grand National races, mounted games, Chase Me Charlie, barrel racing, and showjumping. Entries start from £7 and ‘loan ponies’ will be available for borrowing.
Hobby Horse Adventures, known for showcasing hobby horse jumping at events, will be running qualifiers across the country as a pathway for competitors to participate in the international fixture at Thoresby. Event director Stuart Buntine aims to attract a wider audience to showcase the best of eventing and engage families in new activities. Hobby horsing has become a popular sport in the UK, Europe, and worldwide, with showjumping on hobby horses with shorter sticks being a favorite among participants of all ages.
Hobby Horse Adventures emphasizes the wholesome fun of hobby horsing, encouraging people of all ages to join in the sport. The current trend of showjumping on hobby horses with custom-made lightweight jumps has gained popularity, and parents are also welcome to participate. The Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park will offer a new and exciting experience for equestrian enthusiasts and families, providing a unique opportunity to engage in the sport of hobby horsing.
