Highlights and Champions of the 2025 Vermont State 4-H Horse Show

The 2025 Vermont State 4-H Horse Show, held July 11-13 at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction and sponsored by UVM Extension 4-H, featured competitive yet enjoyable events for young equestrians across Vermont. Participants competed in divisions ranging from Beginner to Senior in various classes including fitting and showmanship, trail, equitation, and gymkhana, with top performers advancing to championship rounds. Allessandra Hoffman of Milton earned the senior Fitting and Showmanship Championship and the overall 4-H Division senior title, receiving the Paul Quinn Memorial Award. Other notable winners included Viola Brown, Lochlan Bertrand, and Saige Prisco, with awards also given for quiz bowl, judging contests, and discipline divisions such as English, Western, and Small Equine.

The event also emphasized inclusivity by allowing 4-H members without horses to participate in quiz bowl and judging. Special awards recognized high point champions and club achievements, with Whispering Pines 4-H Club earning top honors. The show was supported by a dedicated team of officials and volunteers, ensuring smooth operations and a positive experience for all involved. For further information, interested parties were encouraged to contact Wendy Sorrell, UVM Extension 4-H livestock educator.
