National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, visited the Aba Annayev International Academy of Horse Breeding and the State Equestrian Circus named after Gorogly in Arkadag city, highlighting the significance of 2026 as the year of “Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the native land of purposeful winged racers.” The visit emphasized the development of horse breeding traditions, particularly the Akhal-teke breed, through institutions like the Educational Centre “At-myrat,” which trains youth in horse breeding, riding, and equestrian sports. Hero-Arkadag praised the state’s support in creating modern educational and training facilities, fostering national pride, and promoting the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan’s equestrian arts.
During the visit, Hero-Arkadag also met with the “Galkynysh” National Equestrian Games Group, congratulating them on their international achievements and awarding them 3 million manats to support their work in popularizing Turkmen horse-breeding art globally. He gifted a prized horse named Garashsyz to the group, symbolizing the continuity of national traditions and the country’s progress. The leader stressed the importance of preserving and promoting horse breeding as a timeless art, encouraging further international cooperation, cultural promotion, and media projects to showcase Turkmenistan’s equestrian heritage and the accomplishments of its youth in this field.
