Haulin Ice, a multiple Oaklawn stakes winner, was named the 2025 Arkansas-bred Horse of the Year at the Arkansas Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Horsemen’s Association banquet. She became the leading Arkansas-bred money earner in history after winning the Princess Rooney Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park, pushing her career earnings to $958,650 and surpassing the previous record held by Nodouble. In 2025, Haulin Ice posted notable victories including the Downthedustyroad Stakes and the Matron Stakes at Oaklawn, and earned her first graded stakes win in the Vagrancy (G3).
A 5-year-old daughter of Coal Front, Haulin Ice also made history by becoming the first Arkansas-bred to surpass $1 million in career earnings with a dominant win in the Downthedustyroad Stakes, setting a female record for six furlongs at Oaklawn. Trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. and owned by C2 Racing stable, WSS Racing, and Agave Racing stable, she capped her 2025 season with a sixth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1). Additionally, her dam, She’s Smoke, along with Street Strategy and Bill McDowell, were honored again as Broodmare, Stallion, and Breeder of the Year, respectively.
