“Good Morning America” is commemorating its 50th anniversary and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States with a yearlong series titled “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful.” Each week, a “GMA” anchor or correspondent visits a different state in the order they joined the Union, highlighting local changemakers and showcasing unique cultural, historical, and traditional landmarks. Viewers are encouraged to share stories about people in their communities who make their states special.

The series has already featured diverse stories from several states, including Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach lifeguards, Pennsylvania’s historic Shankweiler’s Drive-In, New Jersey’s Piney Hollow Farm, and Georgia’s birthplace of the Girl Scouts. Other highlights include Connecticut’s Lake Compounce amusement park, Maryland’s legacy of Harriet Tubman, South Carolina’s ClemsonLIFE program for students with intellectual disabilities, and Tennessee’s largest off-roading park. The program will continue through July 2026, celebrating the rich and varied heritage of all 50 states.
