“Good Morning America” is commemorating its 50th anniversary and the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States with a yearlong series titled “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful.” Each week, a “GMA” anchor or correspondent visits a different state in the order they joined the Union, highlighting local changemakers and showcasing unique cultural, historical, and traditional landmarks. The series invites viewers to share stories about people in their communities who make their states special.
Since its launch on July 3 with Delaware, the first state admitted to the U.S., the series has featured diverse stories such as lifeguards at Rehoboth Beach, the world’s oldest drive-in theater in Pennsylvania, agricultural roots in New Jersey, the birthplace of the Girl Scouts in Georgia, and many more. The program continues to explore each state’s distinctive heritage and contributions, with episodes planned through July 2026.
