Godolphin Tops North American Breeders Standings for Fifth Consecutive Year with Record Earnings in 2025

For the fifth consecutive year, Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation has led the North American breeding standings, setting a new earnings record in 2025 with $27.3 million individually and $28.6 million including partnerships. Godolphin bred 22 black-type winners, including 12 graded stakes victors such as Sovereignty, who won the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and Travers Stakes, and Good Cheer, winner of the Kentucky Oaks. The stable also boasts multiple other graded stakes winners and maintains a 17% win rate from 1,294 starts. Godolphin continues to be a finalist for the Eclipse Awards in outstanding breeder and owner categories, having won both titles multiple times in recent years.

Other top breeders include the late Brereton C. Jones and WinStar Farm, ranking second individually and with partners, respectively. The top 10 breeders list features prominent names like Don Alberto, Calumet Farm, Spendthrift Farm, and Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, with earnings ranging from about $5 million to over $11 million. These breeders collectively contribute to a competitive and high-performing North American thoroughbred racing landscape.
