Christina Marie Plante, who disappeared at age 13 in 1994 while walking to a nearby stable in the Payson–Star Valley area northeast of Phoenix, has been found alive after more than 30 years. Despite an extensive search at the time, no leads emerged until recent advances in technology and investigative techniques allowed detectives to develop new leads, ultimately confirming her identity and resolving the cold case.

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office credited cold-case review initiatives for bringing closure to families and communities affected by long-unsolved disappearances. Out of respect for Ms. Plante’s privacy and wellbeing, authorities have not released further details about her current circumstances.
