The Georgia Bulldog equestrians secured their eighth national title at the NCEA Championships in Ocala, Florida by defeating SMU 12-8 in the final. They first beat Auburn 13-4 in the quarterfinals and then Texas A&M 16-4 in the semifinals to reach the championship match. The team put on a strong performance in both reining and Flat competitions to secure the victory.
The victory marks Georgia’s first national title since 2020-21 and the eighth overall since the program began in 2001 under coach Meghan Boenig. Coach Boenig was also inducted into the NCEA’s Hall of Fame over the weekend for her contributions to collegiate equestrian competition. The win is a point of pride for the Bulldog program and showcases the team’s dedication and skill in the sport.
The Mane ‘Dawgs dominated the competition, with standout performances from Kennedy Buchanan and Cadence Eger in reining, as well as Senior Catalina Peralta in the Flat competition.
