Georgia 4-H State Horse Show Honors Senior Division Champions with Scholarships and Belt Buckles

The 61st annual Georgia 4-H State Horse Show took place June 3-7 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds, featuring 134 participants from 4th to 12th grade competing across various horse riding divisions. Georgia Farm Bureau supported the event by providing t-shirts for all participants and awarding champion belt buckles and $500 scholarships to senior division winners, who also earned the prestigious Master 4-H’er status. The competition emphasized both horsemanship skills and knowledge, requiring participants to complete a horse care manual and pass a rulebook quiz, with senior scores factoring into final standings.

Senior division champions included Jenna McBee (Ranch Horse Division), Emily McBrayer (Hunt Seat Division), Bailee Seymour (Contest Events Division), and Andi Unger (Stock Seat Division). Each champion demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication with their horses, showcasing versatility, speed, precision, and partnership. These young riders, supported by their families and 4-H agents, highlighted the life lessons and friendships gained through their years of training and competition, with many planning to continue their education and equestrian pursuits beyond high school.
