Grace Harrison, originally from Newtownabbey, discovered her passion for horses early on and found her calling at CAFRE Enniskillen, where she has spent the past five years developing her skills and knowledge. Starting with a Level 3 in Equine Management, she progressed to a three-year honours degree and is now in her final year. The unique campus environment, with its extensive horse facilities and experienced lecturers, has provided her with invaluable hands-on experience and fostered her independence and work ethic. Despite not coming from a horsey family, Grace’s dedication has been unwavering, and she has embraced the demanding lifestyle of equine care.
Looking ahead, Grace aims to specialize as an equine dentist, a niche field with high demand, and plans to build a portfolio to pursue further study in England. Her journey also included enriching experiences such as a study trip to Kentucky, highlighting the global scope of the equine industry. Grace’s story exemplifies how CAFRE supports students in turning their passion into a career, offering practical training, community, and opportunities for growth. As she prepares to graduate, she encourages others without a horsey background to consider CAFRE’s courses as a gateway into the equine world.
