Keigan Madden, a native of New Waterford in the Maritimes, transitioned from a lifelong spectator of standardbred racing to an accomplished trainer and driver. Growing up near the prominent Leblanc racing family and sharing a passion for racing with his father, Madden began his training career in 2021 with immediate success. After a few wins, he shifted focus to driving, quickly finding his stride with 10 wins and 31 top-three finishes in 2023, including a memorable first driving victory at Northside Downs.
In 2024 and 2025, Madden continued to build his career, achieving a career-best 59 top-three finishes in 2025, largely thanks to the bay pacer David Lloyd George, a horse he co-owns with his father and Harold Leblanc Jr. Despite working full-time outside racing, Madden benefits from his father’s support in caring for their horses. Looking ahead to 2026, Madden aims to keep improving his performance, embracing his unexpected but fulfilling journey from grandstand spectator to successful horseman.
