Firefighters from the Franklin County Fire Department had a busy Friday, not due to fires but because they responded to a rescue call involving a horse named Shooter trapped in a frozen pond. Multiple units, including Engine 10, Engine 6, Rescue 10, City of Frankfort Fire & EMS, Emergency Management, and Anderson County Large Animal Rescue, collaborated on the rescue effort.
Shooter was successfully freed from the ice without sustaining further injuries and is currently recovering. The incident highlights the diverse and challenging nature of emergency response work beyond typical fire-related emergencies.
