Four Horses Rescued from Icy Pond on Calhoun County Golf Course

Four horses escaped their enclosure and fell through the ice on a pond at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Calhoun County, Michigan. The Calhoun County Area Law Enforcement Underwater Rescue Team (ALURT), along with Burlington, Newton Township, and Union City fire departments, responded to the water rescue early Sunday morning.

The rescue teams worked together to manually pull the horses from the shallow icy water. All four horses were successfully rescued without injury and received further care after the incident.
