Four individuals were arrested in Tangail’s Gopalpur upazila for allegedly slaughtering horses and selling horse meat. Local residents discovered 12 horses gathered at Md. Hafizur Rahman’s residence, with eight being slaughtered and processed. The residents detained the suspects and handed them over to the police.
The arrested men were identified as Md. Hridoy, Md. Sumon, Md. Farhad, and Aminul Islam. Police confirmed the arrests and stated that further legal action would be taken against them, along with measures to protect the rescued horses.
