Forest Teen Maisy Mansbridge Shows Signs of Recovery After Serious Pony Accident

Maisy Mansbridge, a 15-year-old Forest teenager, suffered serious injuries after falling from her pony during the Boxing Day New Forest point-to-point races and was airlifted to hospital. Her father provided an update, revealing that Maisy is slowly being woken from a deep sedation in the paediatric intensive care unit. She is now breathing independently and showing small signs of responsiveness, such as blinking, nodding, and squeezing hands, but her recovery remains long and uncertain.

The family has received significant community support, including a GoFundMe campaign started by local author Sally Marsh, which has raised over £23,000 to help them through this difficult time. Maisy’s father expressed pride in her strength and resilience, as well as gratitude for the support and for his youngest daughter Emily, who has been caring for the family’s animals and visiting Maisy in hospital.
