Fordham Family Honored with 2025 Show Legacy Award by American Quarter Horse Association

The Fordham family has been honored with the 2025 Show Legacy Award by the American Quarter Horse Association for their significant contributions to competitive showmanship and horse breeding. Don and Linda Fordham established the family’s passion for horses and breeding in Aberdeen, South Dakota, a legacy continued by their three daughters—Kim, Kris, and Kara—who have all achieved notable success in horse competitions and championships. Their dedication has helped preserve the sport and breed some of the top-performing Quarter Horses, including notable horses like Illuminated Lady and Hobbys BlackVelvet.

Beyond their competitive achievements, the Fordhams’ legacy is deeply rooted in their commitment to breeding quality horses and passing down horsemanship through generations. The family continues to raise and breed Quarter Horses, with the daughters teaching their own children the sport, ensuring the Fordham influence endures. A celebration honoring the family’s legacy is scheduled for January 26th in Pierre, South Dakota.
