Five Horses Rescued and Recovering After Two Weeks Without Care in Fredericksburg

Five horses are currently recovering at Hill Country Animal Rescue in Fredericksburg, Texas, after being neglected for two weeks following the deaths of their elderly owners. When authorities arrived, they found 16 horses on the property, with two already dead from being tied up without water. The rescued horses—named Jonas, Rune, Marvel, Groot, and Fable—are described as gentle and trusting despite their ordeal, with Marvel being pregnant. Groot is in critical condition due to severe weight loss, dental issues, and the need for eye surgery.

The horses require extensive medical care, including dental work, hoof care, and nutritional rehabilitation. While the rescue wished to take in all 14 surviving horses, they are focused on providing these five with a safe and healthy future. Hill Country Animal Rescue is seeking donations to cover the costs of feed, medical treatments, and other necessary care.
