First Foal by Claiborne Farm’s Grade 1 Winner Bright Future Born in Kentucky

Claiborne Farm announced the birth of the first foal by their Grade 1 winner Bright Future, a flashy chestnut colt born on February 17 in Paris, Kentucky. Bred by Deborah Hancock, the colt is out of Miss Tattle Tale, a Tale of the Cat winner whose first four foals have all been winners. Miss Tattle Tale’s family includes stakes winners and producers such as Rapid Racer and Runway Model, the latter being the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner and sire McKinzie.

Bright Future, a 7-year-old son of Curlin, was purchased for $350,000 at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling Sale and had a successful racing career, winning the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) and Salvator Mile Stakes (G3) before retiring with earnings of $947,940. He is out of graded-placed stakes winner Sophia’s Song and is a half brother to multiple graded stakes winners Booth and Musical Mischief. Bright Future’s lineage also traces back to Housebuster, a two-time U.S. champion sprinter.
