Firefighters responded to an emergency at Cecil’s Horse Sanctuary in Chalfont St Peter on the evening of April 25, where two horses were trapped in a trench. Crews from Gerrards Cross and Aylesbury arrived at approximately 9:10 PM to assist in the rescue.

Using specialized equipment and farm machinery, the firefighters successfully freed the horses, both of whom were unharmed during the incident. After the rescue, the animals were returned to their owner’s care.

In addition to the rescue, firefighters helped the landowner secure the premises to ensure the safety of the other animals on the property.
