On the night of February 7th to early February 8th, 2026, firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a rescue at a horse stable near Century Boulevard and Orange Avenue in Paramount. An Arabian horse returning from giving rides at a party became trapped when its right hind leg broke through the trailer floor, causing injury and leaving two legs stuck. Unable to safely intervene without tranquilizing the horse, responders awaited a veterinarian while a caretaker and the horse’s owner used tools to dismantle parts of the trailer and free the animal after about two hours.
Once freed, the horse collapsed but was tended to immediately and, after resting, was able to stand. The owner expressed hope to avoid euthanasia as long as the horse can walk and is now seeking help with veterinary expenses for its recovery. The rescue involved coordinated efforts between firefighters, the owner, and stable helpers.
