Fire crews from Downham Market and King’s Lynn responded to a call in Southery, near Downham Market, to rescue a horse trapped in a ditch for over two hours. Using green strapping to secure the nearly one-tonne animal, firefighters carefully lifted the horse out of the ditch, a challenging task given its weight of more than 850kg.
After being pulled to safety, the horse was laid out in a nearby field and has since made a full recovery, according to Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service. The successful rescue highlights the crews’ dedication and skill in handling such difficult animal emergencies.
