Personnel from the Central Valley Fire District successfully rescued a horse named Dream that had fallen into a creek near Airport Road on March 8. Firefighters responded promptly after reports that the horse’s head was barely above water, indicating a critical situation. They coordinated closely with veterinarians already on scene, the property owner, and neighbors to safely remove the horse about 40 minutes after dispatch. Dream was evaluated at the scene and transported for further veterinary care, with no injuries reported among responders or civilians.
The fire district emphasized the complexity and safety risks involved in large animal rescues and urged the public to contact emergency services rather than attempting rescues themselves. They expressed gratitude to all who assisted, noting that the quick and cooperative efforts ensured a safe and successful outcome for the horse. Dream is now resting and recovering following treatment.
