Firefighters from the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in Britain rescued a 1,700-pound Belgian draught horse named Ruby after she got through an electric fence and became stuck in a bog. Despite efforts to create a solid surface with straw for Ruby to stand on, she was too exhausted to free herself.
The rescue team collaborated with a local farmer who used heavy equipment to lift Ruby out of the bog with a harness. After being safely returned to her stable, a veterinarian examined Ruby and confirmed she was uninjured but needed rest.
