Fire Crews Tackle Large Muck Heap Blaze in South Oxfordshire

On April 19, fire crews from Oxford’s Rewley Road, Thame, and Slade Park Fire Stations responded to a large muck heap fire in South Oxfordshire around 10 AM. Due to limited water supplies in the area, a water carrier from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service was also deployed to assist in extinguishing the blaze.

Firefighters utilized hose reel jets, hay drags, and forks to suppress the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Mechanical assistance from a neighboring farmer was instrumental in relocating the muck heap to a safer area. Relief crews were brought in to manage the situation before the incident was handed over to the property owner.

Additionally, Crew Manager Bransby used his equestrian expertise to calm nearby horses, ensuring their safety during the incident. The Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service shared images of the fire and the efforts of the firefighters, although the exact location of the fire was not disclosed.
