Fiery French Whiskey, known as “Ace,” is a South Dakota-bred Quarter Horse stallion with an impressive show record and pedigree. Purchased by Dan and Brenda Whetham in 2017, Ace quickly rose to prominence by winning the Best of the West Tie-Down Futurity at the 2021 Black Hills Stock Show and earning an AQHA Performance Champion title through superior rankings in heading, heeling, and tie-down roping. Trained initially by Randy Guggisberg and then Luke Jones, Ace excelled in multiple events, including ranch riding and halter, consistently earning All-Around titles and qualifying for AQHA World Shows. His athleticism, intelligence, and versatility made him a standout competitor and a beloved figure in the Whetham family and the broader Quarter Horse community.
After a distinguished show career, Ace is now officially retired from competition and focusing on his role as a sire at Red Valley Genetics, with his offspring highly sought after nationwide. The Whethams credit their success to a strong family and trainer support system, including Luke Jones and their nephew Tanner Whetham, who helped Ace achieve elite AQHA Performance Champion status. Despite his retirement from the show ring, Ace remains a cherished horse with a lasting legacy in performance and breeding, celebrated for his exceptional talent and character.
