The FEI has launched the “Beat the Heat” campaign to help national federations, officials, event organizers, and the wider equestrian community protect the welfare of horses and riders during hot and humid conditions. The campaign includes a comprehensive guide offering practical advice on cooling strategies such as providing shade, water, ice, and ventilation, as well as a series of eight animated videos available on the FEI Campus platform. These resources cover heat impact on performance, training, travel, and how to recognize and respond to heat-related illnesses.
The campaign is being promoted across FEI’s social media channels over five weeks to raise awareness and encourage preventive measures. Additionally, the FEI provides free educational content on its Campus platform and maintains a knowledge base with decades of research on heat management for horses and humans. The initiative aims to ensure safety and optimal performance in equestrian events during warmer months by fostering proactive heat risk management.
