The Fast Track program, now in its ninth year, is a nationally recognized 12-month traineeship by the Thoroughbred Breeders Australia (TBA) aimed at developing the next generation of professionals in Australia’s thoroughbred breeding industry. It offers full-time paid employment on participating studs, structured training through TAFE NSW, intensive learning blocks in Scone, and leads to the completion of a Certificate III in Horse Breeding. Since 2018, graduates have secured roles in various breeding operations, including broodmare and stallion care, foaling, veterinary support, and sales preparation.
The program encourages individuals aged 18 and over seeking a structured career pathway in thoroughbred breeding to apply before the 31 March 2026 deadline. Stud farms interested in hosting trainees for 2026-27 can contact the Fast Track Manager to contribute to workforce development. More information and application details are available on the TBA website.
