Exploring the Veneto Horse Trail: A Guide to Equestrian Tourism in the Pre-Alps

Equestrian tourism in the Veneto region is becoming increasingly popular, with a new horse trail spanning 266 kilometers between the foothills, Prosecco vineyards, and Piave vineyards. This trail offers a unique way to explore the region, with convenient parking and easy-to-follow paths. The project has seen significant participation from municipalities and associations, promoting the region’s landscapes, villages, and historical sites.

The horse trail in the Veneto region is the first of its kind, crossing the Treviso foothills and offering a scenic route through various municipalities. The trail provides opportunities for equestrian tourism enthusiasts to observe the region’s beauty up close while enjoying a unique perspective from horseback. The ideal time to ride the bridleways of the Treviso Pre-Alps is from late spring to late autumn, when temperatures are mild and the ground is drier.

The Ippovie delle Prealpi Trevigiane e Bellunese project was launched in 2007 to attract tourists with a high rural vocation and promote sustainable economic development in the area. The project involves 9 municipalities in Treviso, with the Province leading a network of operators offering refreshment centers, rest centers, bivouacs, hippies, and farriers. The increasing interest in equestrian tourism is evident from web data, with the word “horse” being clicked on an average of 1.8 million times a month.
